USA and England create video billboards to capture criminals and find missing children
28/01/2010The billboard, which was unveiled yesterday, is part of an agreement with Clear Channel that gives the FBI access to over 400 digital billboards in 33 cities across the country. The Times Square sign rotates through FBI's Most Wanted criminals that are thought to be in the area but can also be updated with missing persons reports and emergency warnings.
New York City's abundance of faces has long provided a kind of shelter for criminals seeking anonymity among the masses. This gigantic digital wanted poster might make them rethink that approach. via The Washington Post
Buildings across the UK are also splashing scary mugs on them too, like the one above.
It's not just criminals apparently, with monuments and buildings proving to be the 21st century version of a milk carton, projecting images of missing people on them too.
A £3,000 ($4,841) projector is being used in Hampshire for ultimate exposure of the nasty wrong-doers' faces, though the brand is unknown. Anyone know? via Daily Mail
