Sorry again for slacking on the blog. Here is the digital idea of the day. I realize I just need to get up extra early and post stuff before I head out the door to work.
Anyways, via main man Terris is a nice video openFrameworks put on their site to showcasing several digital ideas using their C++ library. You can see more videos here. My favorite is the laser tag from grl that I saw about a year ago.
Ari Weinstein started using a computer at age 3. Started hacking at the age of 7 when he figured out how to get around AOL’s parental controls. And now jail breaking iphone on his summer vacation. I need to start getting my digital grind on or I will be loosing my job when I hit 40 by some 12 year old.
Google wave is a new tool for communication and collaboration on the web that is coming later this year. It was developed by the two brother duo, Lars Rasmussen & Jens Rasmussen, and their 5 person team.
Google wave is truly the next big idea and probably might be the Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter killer. It basically works by creating a wave and add people to it. Everyone then on your wave can use rft, photos, gadgets, and even feeds from other sources on the web. The thing which makes it even more awesome (jump to 10:35 secs in the video) is that users in your wave can insert a reply or edit the wave directly. You get instant gratification by seeing on your screen what your collaborators are typing in your wave. You can then see playback and see the entire wave and how it developed.
The code is open source which means that a bunch of developers will have their hands on it and adding all types of crazy stuff into it before they launch. The video above is a bit long but goes really in depth on the capabilities of Google wave.
I’ve decided to make a daily blog post of fresh new digital ideas as well as other topics. The reason for this is so I can have a personal log of digital ideas that I can use hopefully as reference. So I present to you the first of many of digital idea of the day.
